Hiding

We are currently hiding from COVID-19. This has been a relatively successful exercise here in North Idaho. In Bonner County we've stabilized at four confirmed infections for quite a while. Some of those people must have recovered by now, hopefully with no debilitating aftereffects.

As we hide from the coronavirus, I also await news from

• Discovery Islands Lodge
• Sechart Lodge

to determine whether or not our two BC kayak trips can go forward.

Although we are 'self isolating', we are not hunkered down in our house. We are hiking and, as seen from earlier blogs, I have done some short kayak trips on our great lake.

We have not gone ahead on our plans for a trip to Austria in autumn. Unless a virus vaccine becomes available, it is unwise to fly out of the country. Driving to BC is, however, tolerable. However, at this point the USA-Canadian border is closed to non-essential travel anyway.
